Hello there. Today I was thinking about getting a polarising filter, but suddenly a wave crashed in my brain, dropping the metaphorical penny into the conscious mind. As it so happens, 3D glasses also contain polarising filters as lenses.

And, so I mustered my practical abilities and duelled with the plastic frames to retrieve a fully-functioning filter. Although I did not extend my ingenuity to actually mounting the filter.

Interestingly, polarizing is used to orient bees when they direct other bees to nectar. And if you have vertically orient silver-plated nanoparticles suspended in water, you have yourself an invisibility cloak.

Holy Moley; it’s been a while since my last post, and quite a lot has happened. Google Chrome OS was announced, which sounds incredibly awesome.

“Google? Releasing an Operating System?” I thought as I heard a passing reference on the radio. I needed to investigate…

Later that day, I dissected a heart, which was very good.

After that, I went home and took some pictures, as I like to do. Mostly macros of hoverflies, as they seem quite abundant.

Then I remembered the small article on Chrome OS I heard and decided to do some extreme browsing. First impressions: it is Linux, Google style.

Once I was satisfied, I went to bed.

Also, I saw a fox, but that was on the previous day.

Thus concludes this blog entry.
